Major programs within HUD

Grants Management Program. This project is designed to consolidate the delivery of services through HUD’s 71 grant programs. It will organize and standardize these programs across the agency. Externally, the project will be part of a governmentwide streamlining process through Grants.gov. Program manager: Tammy Borkowski

HUD Integrated Human Resources and Training Program. HUD plans to consolidate and standardize onto a single platform its human resources and training functions at its Washington headquarters and across the department’s 81 regional and field offices. The department has purchased PeopleSoft Human Resource Management System for the project. It will replace several slow and isolated legacy systems. Program manager: Barbara Henson

HUD Integrated Financial Management Improvement Program. The department is upgrading and consolidating systems that support the department’s financial management. This initiative will migrate HUD financial and budget information to a system that will improve the completeness and accuracy of the information and make it available to users on demand. The system will include accounting, budgetary, geospatial and natural-resources data. Program manager: Mary Kohlmeier Lead contractor: Calibre Systems Inc. of Alexandria, Va.

Single Family Mortgage Insurance Program. HUD uses 30 IT systems to support the Federal Housing Administration’s Single Family Mortgage Insurance line of business. The department plans to create a single application to support these operations. The department awarded a contract to Frontline Systems of Incline Village, Nev., in February to re-engineer the systems and integrate them into HUD’s enterprise architecture. The effort will help FHA address audit weaknesses and reduce costs.
