About GCN Forums: The Talk of Government IT
GCN Forums give anyone interested in government technology the chance to ask questions of key policy makers, technicians and managers. GCN Forums are free and open to the public; no registration is required.
Each online Forum is moderated by a GCN editorial staff member, who guides the online discussion and interaction with the guest expert.
To submit questions prior to and during the event, go to the introduction page and select "Submit a question" from the list of links contained in the shoulder box on the right. (You can submit questions at any time before and during the forum.)
Prior to the forum, a link to the forum's transcript will be displayed on GCN.com's home page; please note that the transcript will not go "live" until the appointed hour for the forum. There also is a "Question and Answer" link in the shoulder box that will take you to the forum transcript. To receive GCN's forum announcement e-letter, click "Sign up for e-mail reminder."
Once the forum has begun, the questions and answers will be released in real time; the transcript page refreshes automatically.
The host(s) will read each submitted question and answer as many as possible before they are published for the live audience to view. We attempt to answer all questions during the one-hour forum event.
Some Forum guests will answer questions privately and will respond to questions that could not be published because of the time limit. That is why we ask you to provide your e-mail address on the question submission form, in case our hosts have the opportunity to give private answers to questions that could not be addressed during the forum. Otherwise, questions that were answered after the hour-long Forum will be posted in the event's transcript. An editor's note will point out the additions.
In accord with the terms of our Privacy Policy, your e-mail address will never be shared with any other party as a result of your participation in a GCN Forum. Please e-mail us if you have questions.
