Identix has won a contract worth more than $2 million from the Homeland Security Department to provide fingerprint scanning technology, the company has announced.

Under the contract Identix of Minnetonka, Minn., will provide the department with the company’s TouchPrint 3000 series live scan systems.

DHS will deploy the devices at Immigration and Customs Enforcement sites to assist in the electronic scanning of fingerprints and to facilitate simultaneous verification from both Homeland Security and FBI databases.

The task order contract was awarded under NASA’s Scientific and Engineering Workstation Procurement 3 governmentwide acquisition contract.

Indentix provides biometric technologies and solutions to the government and commercial sectors.
