By Trudy Walsh
Uplogix has released two new products: a hardware remote management appliance, the Uplogix 430, and the Remote Management Operating System (RMOS) v3.5 software platform, which delivers the intelligence and automation to power the Uplogix 430 and Uplogix 3200 appliances.

The Uplogix 430 is a compact, fixed 4-port version of the Uplogix secure remote management appliance designed for large enterprises that need to manage a handful of devices at multiple remote locations with limited IT support.

The Uplogix RMOS v3.5 directs Uplogix SRM appliances to remotely automate hundreds of routine system maintenance, configuration, fault diagnosis and recovery operations. The RMOS v3.5 is the first software platform to integrate IT operations and security remote management functionssuch as secure remote access, local performance monitoring, policy enforcement, configuration management and fault managementinto a single platform. It can automate up to 70 percent of routine maintenance and recovery operations that would otherwise be performed by an on-site technician.
