Firefox 3.0.1 released

Mozilla Corp. has announced that Firefox 3.0.1 is available here for free download for Windows, Mac and Linux platforms.

Mozilla representatives said that they “strongly recommend that all Firefox users upgrade to this latest release.” Existing Firefox users will receive an automated update notification by tomorrow. The update can also accessed by selecting “Check for updates” from the Firefox help menu.

The new release fixed several security and stability issues, Mozilla officials said. Last month the Zero Day Initiative of TippingPoint Technologies received a report about a vulnerability hours after the new browser’s June 17 release. The vulnerability was a critical one that an attacker could exploit to execute arbitrary code on the compromised computer.
