Open-source integration
By Joab Jackson, GCN Staff
Unisys Corp. of Blue Bell, Pa., (www.unisys.com) has signed a partnership with MySQL AB of Sweden (www.mysql.com) to incorporate the open-source MySQL database into the integrators own offerings and to offer MySQL support and consulting services. Unisys has seen the database used increasingly in the public sector, particularly in workgroup and departmental settings, as well as for data marts, said Ali Shadman, Unisys vice president. Ease of use is a big selling point. Just being able to simply get it, install it and run it is key, he said.
