Workflow on the go
By Patrick Marshall , GCN Staff
Business process management software provider HandySoft Global Corp. of Vienna, Va., has released new software for setting up and running dynamic workflows. While BPM software is typically used to create static workflows, OfficeEngine allows project managers to task workers by e-mail, according to Scott Byrnes, vice president of marketing for the company. The software keeps track of how tasks are progressing by noting if the e-mails have been modified or forwarded. It can keep a summary of how the tasks are progressing overall and it can even tap into content management systems to offer potentially relevant files to help complete the task. OfficeEngine can also show a map of how old processes were executed.
