As the Beijing Olympic games approach, China seems to be stepping up its efforts to keep dissidents out of sight. However, bloggers have found at least one way to get around that government's efficient Internet censors, by using software that turns their writing inside-out, running backward or vertically. Playing with language to foil oppressors isn't a new idea, of course we seem to recall a World War II-era Three Stooges episode in which the lads confused Nazi spies by using the "amscray" brand of pidgin English. Still, it's always good to see free speech get the better of automation.
