NASCIO welcomes President Regan
By Trudy Walsh, GCN Staff
Rock Regan, Connecticuts CIO, is the new president of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers. Regan succeeds Kentucky CIO Aldona Valicenti, who will continue as an officer on the NASCIO executive board.

This year NASCIO members cast their votes for the new officers through the Web, at www.nascio.org. Usually officers are elected at the annual conference, which was to have been held in September in New Orleans, but the conference was canceled in the wake of the events of Sept. 11.

NASCIOs new leaders became official Wednesday. The others are Missouri CIO Gerry Wethington, the new vice president, and New Mexico CIO Robert N. Stafford, the secretary-treasurer.

Regan said NASCIOs mission is taking on new urgency, with technology evolving rapidly and changing how government operates.
